Background
Like many women, I spent years caring for everyone around me while putting my own needs on the back burner. As a homeschooling mom, homesteader, caregiver, and creator, life has always been full of responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities to serve others.
Through the ups and downs of life, I discovered something unexpected in a simple crochet hook and a ball of yarn. What began as a creative hobby quickly became a source of peace, focus, and healing. Crochet gave me a way to slow down, quiet the noise, and create something beautiful one stitch at a time.
That experience changed my life and inspired the creation of Naturally, MelissaMade.
Today, I combine my passion for crochet, teaching, and community to help others discover the confidence, creativity, and connection that handmade crafts can provide. Through crochet classes, handmade products, The Hook Nook community, and the future Purple Peacock Bus, my mission is to create welcoming spaces where people can learn, grow, create, and belong.
I believe creativity is more than a hobby—it is a tool for self-expression, confidence, mindfulness, and connection. Every class, community event, and handmade creation is designed with that purpose in mind.
