It started as a wild "what if" during a late-night crochet session, and today is the day the engine officially sputters to life. We are officially at Day 1 of Phase 1, and while we haven't started the physical hunt just yet, we are laying the most important foundation: the "Bus Fund." Our first major milestone is raising $3,000 to purchase the perfect retired bus that’s just waiting for a second life.
This isn't just about a vintage vehicle, it is about creating a mobile sanctuary for our community. Imagine a place where you can shop for your next project, learn a new stitch, and then head to the back to hang out with the cool kids.

The Vision: A Shop, A Studio, and A Sanctuary
The layout is designed for the ultimate maker experience. The front of the bus will be a curated boutique, a place where you can find that perfect project to get lost in. The middle is our Mid-Bus Studio, where I’ll be hosting parties and teaching classes to get everyone hooked on something knotty.
And then, there’s the back. We all remember that the back of the bus was the place to be, and this one is no different. It’s the ultimate chill zone, a lounge dedicated to kicking back and just enjoying the craft.

The Roadmap: Day 1 and Beyond
Bringing a dream this big to life takes a plan, and I’ve mapped out five distinct phases to get the Purple Peacock on the pavement. Right now, we are standing at the starting line of the very first step.
Phase 1: The Buy (Day 1: Raising the first $3,000!) – We are building the fund to secure the bones of our future home on wheels. Once the bank is ready, the hunt for the perfect retired bus begins.
Phase 2: The Build – This is where the magic happens. We’ll be ripping out the old to make way for custom shelving, studio tables, and that cozy rear lounge.
Phase 3: The Paint – You won't be able to miss us. We’re going full Purple Peacock with custom decals and a coat of paint that screams Hook Nook.
Phase 4: Local Launch – Before we go national, we are taking over the neighborhood. Expect driveway parties and pop-up events right here at home.
Phase 5: On the Road – The final goal. Taking the bus to fiber festivals, workshops, and events across the country to meet all of you.
The Purple Peacock Bus starts with a single step—and today is Day 1.
Every class registration, course enrollment, handmade purchase, community membership, and Buy Me a Bus contribution helps move this dream forward. Together, we're building more than a bus. We're creating a traveling crochet studio, a creative gathering space, and a community built on connection, confidence, and handmade joy.
Follow the journey as we celebrate every milestone, share behind-the-scenes updates, and transform a dream into something you can step inside, experience, and help shape from the very beginning.
Whether you're cheering us on, joining a class, shopping handmade, or contributing to the build, you're becoming part of the Purple Peacock story.
