Sometimes the most satisfying projects are the ones you can finish in a single sitting.
This Small Round Dish Scrubby is a quick, practical project that transforms a little bit of scrubby yarn or sturdy cotton into a hardworking kitchen essential. It's perfect for practicing crocheting in the round, using up leftover yarn, and creating something you'll reach for every day.
Whether you're making one for your own sink or a whole stack as thoughtful handmade gifts, this project is a wonderful reminder that even everyday chores can be made a little brighter with something handmade.
What You'll Need
Yarn: Scrubby sparkle yarn or heavy cotton
Hook: 5.0 mm (H), or the size that gives you a comfortable fabric
Tools: Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Round 3: Chain 2. 2 double crochets in the first stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat around. Join with a slip stitch. (30 stitches)
Round 4: Chain 2. 2 double crochets in the first stitch, then 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches. Repeat around. Join with a slip stitch. (40 stitches)
Round 5: Chain 2. Work 1 double crochet in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch. (40 stitches)
Round 6: Chain 2. Double crochet decrease over the first 2 stitches, then 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches. Repeat around. Join with a slip stitch. (30 stitches)

Fasten off, pull the tail through the remaining stitches to close the opening, and secure it neatly.
Finishing
Weave in your ends securely so your scrubby is ready for everyday use.
A Little Peace
Don't worry if your scrubby isn't perfectly round. Handmade pieces have character, and this one is made to clean dishes—not sit on a shelf. Every stitch is progress, and every finished project is something to be proud of.
