​What You Need

• ​Small scraps of medium weight cotton or acrylic project from your shelves

• ​5mm hook

• ​One 1 inch button or a large decorative bead

• ​Yarn needle

• ​Scissors

​The Pattern

​We are going to work this in one solid piece so there is no extra assembly required.

​Foundation: Chain 16. If you have those extra thick laptop cords, feel free to add 4 or 6 more chains to give it a bit more wrap.

​Row 1: Single crochet in the second chain from your hook and in each chain across. Chain 1 and turn. (15 stitches)

​Row 2: Single crochet in each stitch across. Chain 1 and turn.

​Row 3: This is where we make the button loop. Single crochet in the first 13 stitches. Chain 6 (this creates your loop), then skip the last two stitches and slip stitch into the very last stitch of the row.

​Pro Tip: Before you fasten off, grab your button and make sure it fits through that chain-6 loop. If your button is a little chunky, just add a couple more chains to the loop.

​Finishing Up

​Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Use your yarn needle to weave in your starting tail. Use the finishing tail to sew your button onto the opposite end of the strip from where your loop is.
