Classic Coaster Set

What You'll Need

• 5mm crochet hook

• Yarn needle

The Pattern

We're working in a seamless circle to create a clean, classic finish.

Round 1: Create a magic ring. Chain 1, then work 10 half double crochets into the ring. Pull the tail to close the ring tightly and slip stitch to the first stitch to join.(10 stitches)

Round 2: Chain 1. Work 2 half double crochets in each stitch around. Slip stitch to join. (20 stitches)

Round 3:Chain 1. 1 half double crochet in the first stitch, 2 half double crochets in the next stitch. Repeat around. Slip stitch to join. (30 stitches)

Round 4: Chain 1. 1 half double crochet in each of the first 2 stitches, then 2 half double crochets in the next stitch. Repeat around. Slip stitch to join. (40 stitches)

The Finish

For a polished, durable edge, chain 1 and work a slip stitch into every stitch around the coaster. This creates a subtle braided border that helps the coaster hold its shape beautifully.

Finishing Up

Fasten off and weave in all ends securely. If you'd like your coasters to lay perfectly flat, lightly steam block them, taking care not to flatten the stitches.
